Capuchin Retreat’s 50th Anniversary Picnic
Capuchin Retreat celebrated its 50th anniversary today with a blessing of the Retreat House and rededication of the cornerstone by retired Detroit Auxiliary Bishop Thomas Gumbleton, followed by a family-style picnic and open house. Several hundred came out to enjoy fellowship at the Capuchin Retreat grounds. Said Bp. Gumbleton: “This is a place where you can come, of peace, quiet, prayer and reflection, to read the scriptures, especially the Gospels. To hear Jesus, listen to Jesus, follow Jesus and live like Jesus."
Thanks to all who came out to celebrate, and if you couldn't make it, we hope to see you soon at Capuchin Retreat.
